Rice-Planting at Sanbogi Agricultural High School

Yesterday, I went on a field trip for the Japanese 1 class (including some students from the Japanese 2-4, like me haha). We went to Sanbogi Agricultural High School in Towada to plant rice. :) Oh yeah, and have a mud race! I wasn't able to take pictures of us actually planting (obviously BECAUSE I was in the fields, haha). However, my Japanese teacher was kind enough to take pictures while we were in the hot sun bending over to plant rice! :) Thank you!

Here are some pictures from the field trip! =D

Introductory Ceremony

Getting the rice plants!

Before getting into the muddy fields

Getting ready for our positions

After 2 1/2 hours of hard-working... WALAH! The rice fields have been planted! XD

Little Japanese elementary students dropped by to say GANBATTE! (Do your best!)

I thought these were pretty =)

All of us!

It was a really HOT and tiring but FUN-filled day! =) It was a really good experience. :) My whole body is completely SORE from yesterday though. =/ My legs, my arms, my back... hahaha! I'll never forget the slimy, gooey mud rushing through my toes. xP OH. & I saw dragonflies, moths, WORMS, & tiny frogs on the mud as we were planting the rice. x_x" AHHH! I got really dirty (with mud stuck in my fingernails & toenails), but hey! It's only once in awhile! *;]

The best thing about Japan is going out there and having an adventure! =D

Update on School & MUSIC :)

Yes, I know. =( I didn't do what I said I was-- blog at least once a week. >_<* I've been really busy this whole month of May & it's not even half the month yet! XP School's really been stressing me out; I have so many assignments, projects, quizzes, test, etc etc etc! -__-' Sometimes I wish school would come easy for me... but I actually try in school. On May 2nd, I took the SAT for the first time. GAHH! It started from 7:30-12:30... five hours straight! BRAIN KILLING. I had to do a DAM project for Physics (which is the class I absolutely HATE). I had a test for US History about Nixon, Ford, & Carter presidency... oh and I had a Japanese 3 exam. Fun, right?! -.-* Ha. THAT'S NOT ALL. Today I took the AP English Language & Composition exam from 8am-12pm. GRR, it was another brain-killing exam. =( I also have another Physics project due next week friday; I have to make a glider and make it perform well. -__-* I HATE HATE HATE HATE PHYSICS. SAVE ME! >:[ Gahh... I only have a month of school left.. trust me, I'm counting down until SUMMER! ^-^*

OKAY so enough about school. =P Time to share my Asian musical interests! =D

On May 6th, a Korean female R&B/Hip Hop group called 2NE1 debuted. The group consists of four talented girls: CL, Minzy, Dara, & Bom. :) Dara (second one from the left in the picture above) is actually the stage name of "Sandara Park," who was a full Korean (ABS-CBN) celebrity in the Philippines known to be a little weird yet still grabbed the hearts of many Filipinos. However, her fame was only limited in the islands... and what do you know?! She's becoming popular in Korea too! ^__^; You should listen to their debut single "Fire" (two music videos were released): Street Version or Space Version CHECK IT OUT!

Anyway, I have homework to finish so I'm gonna end this blog a little early than when I wanted to. :) OH. & Just for fun, I'm going to post the Korean/Japanese word of the day/week/month/or whenever the next time I blog will be! :D

May 13, 2009;

Life = Unfair

Originally written: April 25, 2009

If I...
only could turn back time...
If I...
only had the power...
I'd want to be able to save your life.

But Life is unfair.

If I...
only had enough money...
If I...
only could get what I want...
I'd go back to see you one last time to say good-bye.

But Life is unfair.

People come into our lives--
change who we are for the better...
and suddenly leave us---
to allow us to grow in change by ourselves.

Why is Life unfair?

I wonder why sometimes
people who do the greatest things
don't get to continue to live life showing that greatness.

Why is Life unfair?

Have they learned life's secret?
Or are they the secret to life?

In whatever it may be,
I am surely thankful to have had you,
as such greatness in my life.

After all this time,
I finally come to the truth that
life is fair...
because somehow life had given me you.

Forever & always.

Oh we miss you.

What does "kawaiixsarang" mean?

Okay, so first thing's first. I'm sorry because I almost always abandon this blog of mine! I guess I'm too preoccupied with school. & If I'm not doing homework/projects/or studying, I'm probably just too lazy to update anyway. xD My apologies! I'll try to update at least once a week! *;]

So anyway... I have this collection of different language books, mostly they're Japanese with few Korean/Mandarin Chinese. It ranges from dictionaries to phrasebooks to grammar-sentence structure booklets to workbooks... etc! (As you can tell, I have a lot! Hahaha!) I have a hobby of learning/studying East Asian languages. (: I guess it all started in Middle School when I took Japanese as an elective and I ended up watching Taiwanese/Korean dramas during the summer. I suddenly became intersted in Asian culture, ethics, langauge, and not to forget... FOOD! >;]

This is where my blog title's answer come in... "kawaiixsarang" is my username for most of the sites I use. Kawaii is the Japanese word for cute. Japanese girls use this word more than half the time; they refer to almost everything as kawaii. :) As for me... I love cute Asian things, like Sanrio or Morning Glory... and those Japanese food drawings/plushies with faces! I really adore those kind of things! Hahaha! :]

Sarang
is the Korean word for love. When outgoing-Koreans pose for a picture, they form a heart with their arms & say "SARANGHAE" which means I love you. It's kinda like saying "Cheese!" haha... but in a cute way! xD I used sarang because my favorites are comedy/romance dramas & movies... and 'LOVE' plays a big part in my life! :D Well... to anyone's life really :P Oh yeahhh... and the x in kawaiixsarang is just there to seperate the two different langauges. Lol, nothing special. =)

When you translate the entire name together it becomes cute love. What more is there to describe my interests?! Hahaha. When it's the right time... I want to find cute love. Something not so ordinary; an adventure that will not bore me. Haha *;] But as for now... I'm gonna keep studying these languages during my spare time! Perhaps one day, my prince charming will come... with chinky eyes and a sushi bento(lunchbox) for me! LOL. Kidding. (:

Japanese: Oyasumi nasai!
Korean: Annyonghi jumuseyo!
Chinese: Wan an!
English: Good night!

LOL. Some of that stuff is random! I'd like to make a few changes, and add tons more to that list. Hahaha. ^-^* It's interesting to reflect back on the things going on in my mind last year! I guess I still haven't changed all THAT much. I still want to see most of those places. Gee, I really enjoy traveling, going sight-seeing, taking pictures, and learning about new cultures. :] Especially ASIAN CULTURE! ^__^; I'd be content enough if I can cross of ten places on that list! I guess I have to edit that list first, huh?! I'll write a blog in the future with my updated list-- don't worry about that! HAHA! :]

For now... I'm gonna end my blog here. =) SAYOUNARA!

Korean Obsession <3

I've always had a little obsession with Korean culture, language, music, dramas etc. =) From time to time, I'd watch a Korean drama and become crazy over it; I always end up downloading its OSTs (Original Soundtracks) and looking up the actors/actresses profiles on DramaWiki. xD Hahaha. But then I'd get preoccupied with school and my obsession would die down a bit... UNTIL I watch another Korean Drama! *;] LOL. This time, I'm going GA-GA over the Korean version of "Meteor Garden" & "Hana Yori Dango" --- BOYS BEFORE FLOWERS!

I actually like this version better since the main guy (in this case, Joon Pyo) is less violent compared the the main guys in the Taiwanese & Japanese version. HOWEVER, I don't really like the actress who played the main girl--- her look just doesn't fit in with the character's role. x_x" Ugh, but whateverrr. This drama is still AWESOME! I highly recommend to watch it! ^__^;

-------------------------------------------------

On the other hand, this past week I've been going crazy over DBSK (TVXQ/Tohoshinki). I've always been a fan of them, but I think recently I've become a BIGGER FAN ever since their new Japanese single Survivor. :) I watched their Banjun episodes this entire week and I also watched a bunch of YouTube videos of them on Korean and Japanese game shows. Hahahaha, I think... they are my new obsession. *;] They'll have their 4th Japanese album come out on March 25th! OMG, I WANT TO BUY IT SO BAD! xD

The price is sooo expensive though. >_<" One day, SOME day, I'm going to buy all of their albums. Hahahaha. That's actually pretty lame since their music is all over the internet anyway. BUT HEY! I want to show my support for them. ^-^* Hehe. OH that reminds me! They're going on a live tour to Japan this spring! x_x* I wanted to go to their concert sooo bad; I mean I already LIVE IN JAPAN. >_<" But the closest concert-venue is in Sendai which is four-five hours away by car OR in Sapporo which is an ISLAND away. Hahaha, grrrreat. -__-' Maybe next time! *crosses fingers* Mannn, the DBSK members are extremely very talented, good-looking Koreans! (I love all of them! But my favorite is still Yunho... then Jaejoong, Changmin, Junsu, & Yoochun) SARANGHAE DONG BANG SHIN KI!

-------------------------------------------------

So anywayyyy. Today my dad left to go to Hawaii. How lucky of him! I miss that place soooo much! =( I think I'm going to ask him to buy me a Korean language book. :D They don't have any good ones at the book store on base. >_<" Grawr. I also miss the Korean food I always buy in Hawaii. THAT WAS SOO YUMMY! (; I should learn how to cook Korean food that way I don't have to constantly crave it! Lol... I want to travel to South Korea one day. =) I wish I'll marry a Korean guy one day... or a Japanese guy... or some Asian guy... hahaha, I have to remember: THIS IS REALITY! Lol... it's funny to have an obsession, huh? c[;* At least, it keeps my life entertaining! Hehe ^-^*

Alright. This is the end of my "Korean Obsession" blog... hahahaha! o(^-^)o ANNYEONG!

Adventure in Tokyo =)

February 14, 2009
- Leaving for Tokyo

My family and I decided to go take a short vacation to Tokyo for my brother's birthday week. =) We left last Saturday, around 11:00am, but we stopped by at a mall in Morioka (which was two hours away from where we live) to eat lunch. It was a long road trip, but we finally got to Yokota Air Base at around 8:30pm, and ate Burger King for dinner. Haha. (: We slept at Yokota's lodging, which turned out to be extremely big. o_O* But it was only for the night. =P

February 15, 2009 - Roppongi & Tokyo Tower at Night

On Sunday morning, we ate brunch at Subway in Yokota's BX. =P Then we headed off to Tokyo! We had to stay at Hardy Barracks (the Army lodging) for the night, which was in Roppongi. Man, when I first saw it... I thought"This looks like prison." Hahahaha, but it wasn't that bad. After getting checked in & settled, my family and I decided to walk around Roppongi. :) It was pretty awesome to see a city again, after living in a rural area for eight months straight. We stopped by at Hard Rock Cafe, and my mom and I took some pictures- along the way-- of course. *;] While walking around, we could see Tokyo Tower in a short distance, so we decided to try to find it. BAM! We ended up taking 15 minutes to get there. (: It was magnificant-looking!! =D However, it was expensive to actually ride to the top of the Tower, so only my mom and brother went. That's okay though, because my mom got awesome scenery pictures! =) After going to Tokyo Tower, we ended up going to this plaza place. I forgot what it was called, but we ate a restaurant there called "Asian Diet." It was SO expensive, and only served small portions. =( But.... hey, we were in Tokyo.

February 16, 2009 - Akihabara, Tokyo

I think we started off our day a little late. We woke up and had to pack everything to go to The New Sanno (the actual hotel we were gonna stay at), which was a different part of Tokyo. We couldn't get a room until 3pm, so we decided to eat lunch at their main restaurant. After that, there was nothing really else we could do... so we took the subway for the first time! XD We went to Akihabara, which is famous for its electronic goods. (*That's also where nerds go often! Hahaha, just kidding!) Luckily, we never got lost along the way--- we were just slightly confused. *;] We went around the town for several hours... looking at cameras, laptops, etc. I wanted to get a mini laptop, but there wasn't any that suited my expectations. =P Oh well, maybe next time. Oh, and my brother wanted a toy really badly, so we went in an Anime shop. Oh gosh! -__-' There are some amazingly strange otakus in the stores... and too much otaku merchandise! (Btw, if you don't know what an Otaku is... just google it. Hahaha.) Anyway, we ended up staying at Akihbara until night time. My dad and my brother ate ramen for dinner, while my mom and I ate at a Sushi Donburi place. (: It was oishii! ^__^;

February 17, 2009 - Disney Sea, Tokyo

So on Tuesday morning, my family and I got up to go to Disney Sea! =) It was our first time taking the JR Line in the subway stations. :) It was weird though because Disney made us ride on their train, which was a lot more expensive than Tokyo trains! It was crazy! >_<" However, Disney Sea was pretty fun. (: We got to see some Disney characters and ride on some rides! :] Oh... and lunch was pretty expensive as well, for again, another small portion of a meal. I was disappointed that 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was closed... I wanted to go in the submarine. =( Boooo! But at least my brother and I got to go to Mermaid Lagoon to watch Ariel's show and ride on Jumping Jellyfish. Hahaha! x) Ohhh! & I'm glad we got a Fast Pass for Indiana Jones because the line was CRAZY LONG. xP My brother and I also wanted to go to Storm Rider but there was no more Fast Pass, and the line was amazingly long too. -__-' Ohh yeah. & The gift shops are too expensive; a lot of them sell the same things. =( I don't know if it's been too long since I've been to Disneyland, but I don't really remember if it's always been that way. =P Anyway, my family and I ate dinner in one of the restaurants right outside of the Fireworks Show. (: Not surprising anymore... but dinner was yet again expensive. *sigh* I had a great time overall though! =) I was exhausted by the end of the day!

February 18, 2009 - Ginza, Imperial Palace, & Shibuya

My family and I went to Ginza on Wednesday morning; we bought a one-day pass subway ticket so we could easily get around Tokyo for a cheaper price. (: For lunch, we ate at a bento restaurant under the Tokyo Monorail. It was pretty cool; the old lady waitress was really kind. ^-^* Soon after that, we went to go look for the Sanrio Store! (Muwahaha... yes, it's because I wanted to go there! =P) Finally we found it... but I didn't really have a lot of time to pick out the things I wanted. So I just rushed and got whatever I thought was cheap. 0=) After that, we took the subway to the Imperial Palace. Turns out, it closes at 4pm... and it was barely 3pm. Our feet were so tired by the time we got there. My brother and I just sat on a bench at a resting place, while my parents took pictures around some of the places in the gardens of the Imperial Palace. Since our feet hurt so much (I guess we aren't used to walking a lot), we decided to take a rest back at the hotel. We were supposed to meet my uncle for dinner at Shibuya. So we left our hotel at 6pm and took the bus there. I haven't seen my uncle in ten years, so it was nice to finally be united again. :) Ohhh! At Shibuya, there were soooo many people. It was crowded and so busy! But guess what?! I got to see the Hachiko statue! ^-^* But then... we walked to this restaurant on the 14th floor of a building. MY GOSH. It never gets old, does it? Yeppp, dinner was yet again--- expensive. We had like 8 pieces of sushi for over ten dollars! So crazy! O_o* However... our waiter was soooo "good-looking"! HAHAHA. He reminded me of one the celebrities I watched in a Korean Drama. =P His facial complexion was so white and smooth, LOL. And his hair was cool.. and he had a cute smile. I know, I know. -__-' I'm lameee! But common! I never get a chance to bump into a guy that actually IS my type- physically! Hahahaha. Good part about the night was that my mom took a picture of me and him! *;] Here:

Seeeee. Isn't he good-looking?? Hahaha. I think so! =P BUT ANYWAY. Moving on... After dinner, we were all still hungry after eating that TINY portion of food. So we stopped by Krispy Kreme Donuts and bought two boxes! Haha! xD & Since we were already at Shibuya, we decided to drop by some of the stores to check out what they were selling. My mom and I ended up buying boots for less than 30 dollars! =) YAY! At least THOSE weren't as expensive as the food we ate! =P But it was getting pretty late, and we all had a subway to catch. So, we said our farewells to my uncle & we went our separate ways. 0=)

February 19, 2009 - Pokemon Center, Roppongi Daytime, Harajuku, & Shibuya

Thursday was our last free-time day at Tokyo. To make my little brother extra happy, we decided to take him to the Pokemon Center in Hamamatsu. (: Man... when we got there, I think I was as excited as my brother was... hahaha. xD It was Pokemon everything! =D Everything was totally kawaii! After shopping around, my brother was even happier because he got to play his favorite game... PokeChips! =) My dad and brother wanted to go straight home after that because they wanted to rest and didn't want their feet to hurt anymore, haha. =P But, my mom and I told them we should all go to Roppongi and eat lunch and take pictures. I told my dad that we should take the subway, but my dad insisted on walking there because he thought it was nearby. -___-' Oh boyyyy, was he wrong! Hahaha. We ended up going to a Shrine and took pictures there... and we ended up walking back to Tokyo Tower, which was a 30 minute walk from Pokemon Center. x_x" It was just another 15-20 minutes to actually get to Roppongi! AHH! My mom and I were pretty bummed because we were going to take a one-day pass to go to a bunch of last-minute stops in Tokyo. BUT OUR FEET WERE ALREADY ACHING BADLY! Good thing we had Pepper-Lunch for lunch, because that made us feel better. *;] What sucks was that we ended up going to the same places in Roppongi; since the observatory room for Tokyo View was expensive. x_x" GOSH, why can't Tokyo be cheaper!? xP

Lol... but anyway. After that, my mom and I took the subway to Harajuku. =) I wish we went on Sunday, but that's okay cause we still saw a lot of people dressed weird. xD Haha. There were a lot of foreigners too, for some reason. It was funny though because even their stores were weird. They had a store with a statue of a dressed-lamb in front of it. o_O* Lol, but the good thing about it was that it made Harajuku UNIQUE! :] Oh yeah, and also because they had stores with posters of my favorite celebrities! Hahaha (: & I bought a dress/shirt for only five dollars! Too bad our feets hurted though... cause I wanted to see what else Harajuku had in store... but everything seemed too far apart to go to. =P So instead, my mom and I went back to Shibuya to take a picture of the busiest intersection in the world! =) Haha! xD Here it is from Starbuck's point of view!

After taking video/picture of Shibuya crossing, we went around Shibuya for a little bit. & We bought a new box of Krispy Kreme Donuts... =P Our feet were beginning to be incapable of walking any further.... haha XD So my mom and I decided to go back to the hotel. (: That was basically the last thing we did at Tokyo. :] On Friday, we left The New Sanno and drove back home to Aomori Prefecture. It was snowing hard, and we ended up getting stuck in traffic... It ended up taking 12 hours to get back home... but at least, my brother got to play in snow for his birthday. Hahaha *;] I miss Tokyo & the city life already... now it's time to get back to REALITY.

The End!

Thinking... *;]

Wow, I'm actually blogging on here. Haha. (: This was suppose to be a daily blog, but I kinda started writing, monthly, about my "Adventures in Japan" instead. :P Well, I had an urge to let out my thoughts today. :P Oh but to catch up on some news--- Barack Obama is our 44th President. (: Whoo! Steelers won the 2009 Super Bowl... and today I presented my 2nd place Math Analysis Project to all the teachers at my school (at their staff meeting). -__-' Tomorrow, I'll be helping Japanese Kosen Students at their Robo-Presentation during Seminar. :] Hopefully I can make new friends! =D And next week Thursday, Kosen students will have their exchange day at my school. :) I'm looking forward to that! XD Hmm, butI guess that's all that I can think of. Haha. Now it's time for my random thoughts....

I can't believe I'm graduating next year. I feel so old when little kids ask me what grade I am. They're all in like, what? 1st grade? 2nd grade? Guess what I tell them?... "11th grade..." HAHA! That's practically 10 levels above what they are. :P Oh my gosh! I remember when I was their age telling myself... "Wow, I have a long way to go before college!" Now, time is flying by right in front of my eyes, and I'm astonished by this epiphany. High school year is going to end for me real soon. & I know that I'll be looking back years from now & telling myself... "You were so young." Haha. >_<" There goes that sappy story about life and aging. Yadda yadda, I suddenly don't want to talk about it anymore. Hahaha! =P

Anyway, I'm supposed to plan my independent life right about this time of age. I used to know exactly what I wanted to become, but this year made me realize... maybe I don't want to be become a biomedical engineer afterall. >_<" Now, I'm in a struggle on choosing my "lifetime path" that I'll be walking in. Crrrrrap! xP I remember liking Biology a lot. I was actually interested in all the health related care, blah, blah, blah. I think it's my favorite course in Science. But after having Chemistry & Physics, I'm wondering if I still have a fancy for it. Next year, I think I'll take AP Biology-- I just hope I still find interest in it. XP However, what I'm considering lately... is the fact that I love foreign language studies. I really like learning about different cultures, their customs, their beliefs, etc. :] I actually don't mind pursuing a career in that field... BUT THE QUESTION IS "What type of job does that field offer?" I'm not quite sure! I just know that I want to have a job in the future that I have a passion for, yet at the same time, I want to benefit from whatever I do. GAHH. This is so complicated for me. :( As for now, I'm gonna try my best to maintain good grades, so that I can get into a good college! =D

Anyway, I wasn't actually planning on ending my blog so soon... but I'm thirsty. & I kinda want to get tucked into bed already. :P Haha. Alrighty.... I'm tired, folks! :) Goodnight, BlogSpot!

Happy New Year ! (:

Holy moly! I haven't written anything on here for over a month! There's been soooo much things that happened! Hmm.. let's see...

Winter break was AWESOME! I can't believe I didn't blog about it at all! >_<" GAHH! I have so much to catch up on now! Blechk. Let's just go to the highlights. My family and I went to take pictures at Shimoda Park where the "Statue of Liberty" was. Hahah. Then after that day, it started snowing a whole lot! O_o* I went ice-skating with Tony and my brotherrr. :D Ooh, I went snowboarding for the first time in Appi Iwate! :) I got a haircut... kindof sortof. =P I went sledding at the Ski Lodge on base. I rode on a snow-mobile and went tubing in Ajigasawa! (= I celebrated the New Year with the church brethern... it was REALLY FUN! :D

Oh, and most of all... I hung out with my Japanese friends A LOOOT! =D It was me, Tony, Kyosuke, Shuntarou, Shoko, & Misaki. =) We hung out at Shimoda Mall... and then OH YEAH! I met new friends at my Auntie Kristy's Christmas Party. Then I hung out with them! (: They were boyfriend & girlfriend... and we rode the train to Hachinohe & met up with Kyosuke! AND I ATE OKONOMIYAKI for the first time.... oishii!! XD Then the following day, my Kosen friends came to Misawa this time! They played Guitar Hero III at my house and we walked to the Karaoke place, LALALA, with Tony. :] Then we ate at Yakiniku House.. my first time too! & Gosh, my whole break was just soooooo fun! :D

What sucks about the New Year... is that it's semester exams week. =( I've been working my butt off just to get the grades I need! PHYSICS IS KILLING ME. Then lately, I really don't know what I want to do in life anymore... nor do I know what college I want to go to. =( Ughhh. I'm growing up too fast! Hahaha.

Anyway, I need to get going! I should start cleaning my room now & doing my homework! BYEEE BLOGSPOT! ^-^*
